Unnamed-son's Rebuttal

I was soundly beaten. My mother just had a birthday and I figured what better time to give a present. My undefeated streak was broken but revenge is sweet. --by the disgruntled Scrabble player. (We don't allow sore losers in our family.)

VERY Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving! The big change this year is the new group of the three cousins! Aren't they PRECIOUS? We had such a good time! And, as usual, where there is more than one Risse, there is competition. One son (who will remain unnamed) was soundly beaten by his mother in Scrabble. All I can say is, He was asking for it. We stayed up WAAYY too late playing Balderdash with the family and our two new friends. They REALLY got to know us.

Howdy!

The great Risse migration begins! The Georgia Risses are headed to TX tomorrow, and we are SO excited about seeing them! The first time the new cousins (3 girls, all born this year!) will be together. Fire up those cameras! I found the cutest outfits for their pics....

How do you like the new look? Thought I'd try something different. With all our moves and rearranging furniture (which I LOVE to do), the only thing I haven't rearranged is my husband--I like him just as he is! God has given him a lot of wisdom, and I thank Him for that. What a blessing to have a spiritual leader.

Better go get ready for church! More later, and maybe some pictures!

Miggy! and the Election

THERE'S my girl! Isn't she the sweetest Gerber baby? I just got an Easy Share digital camera, and I'm having a blast working with it. Five megapixels doesn't look too shabby, eh? And what better subject than a baby grand? Such a willing one! I worked the election, and made about $100, and here's where it goes. I think I can put it to good use....

I love working the election. I am very thankful I am not the judge, as it's a HARD job, and sometimes people can get ugly. But most sure were good sports when she sent them back to the courthouse, or to another precinct to vote. I get to see many of the neighborhood folks, which I don't normally, because I don't get out much here in town. We had, counting absentees, about 50% voter turnout. It impressed me, anyway....

The McKinney family just left, and I'm having fun putting my house back in order. You could tell that little people were here for a bit! I LOVE IT.

Thanksgiving's coming up--my FAVORITE holiday! It's our family reunion time, and I can't get enough. The Georgians are coming in next week (birthweek for me!), and I can't wait! PHOTO SHOOTS! We had a friend visit our home, and he said, It seems like every day is Thanksgiving here! I take that as a high compliment. We have much for which to be thankful. God is so good.

This is one of my favorite times of the year--birthday and Thanksgiving, usually within a week and a half of each other! AND the weather is the BEST! We just had a day in the 90's, but I think that's it until probably February next year. (It's not THAT hot that early, but I HAVE put on the air conditioner in the car in February!) I just bask in the cooler weather--I feel like I bloom! Carrying around this furnace called almost-menopause (in the form of hot flashes) would make anyone long for cooler weather! I do strive not to murmur about the heat, as God is the source of all weather. To this I humbly submit!

Much love to all. Thanks for reading! I hope to post more faithfully; for example, like Linda does! Impressive!

Yours and His,
A most-blessed daughter of God!
